Fright Night

Fright Night 2007 poster

Fright Night is Britain’s biggest Halloween party, attracting over 30,000 people into the City Centre each year and has become a Sheffield institution!

Always staged on the Sunday before Halloween, we close the roads around Fargate, Barkers Pool, Peace Gardens, Surrey Street, Leopold Street, Orchard Square, Millennium Square & Winter Gardens for this ‘mass promenade’ event. Attractions for 2008 include street theatre, ghost tours, Star Wars Stormtroopers, a fancy dress catwalk, funfair rides/stalls, Stilt Walkers, live music, fire spinning & firewalking, food stalls, children’s activities, craft stalls, Zombies in the window of M&S and best of all – thousands of other people in the most amazing fancy dress! The event is made possible with the support and help of Sheffield City Council, First Buses who are our Main Sponsor, Real Radio, The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Newspapers, Stagecoach Supertram and many other partners.

Fright Night attracts visitors from around the UK – if you need hotel accommodation visit www.sheffield.gov.uk/out--about/tourist-information/staying-in-sheffield .

Alongside the Fright Night event is Sing a Long A Rocky Horror at Sheffield City Hall on the same night, so why not come to Fright Night and then go on to Rocky Horror @ 7.30. www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk
